KARACHI: Polling for the by-election in PS-127 constituency of Sindh Assembly has begun. A total of 15 candidates including those from MQM, Tehreek-e-Insaf, Peoples and Pasban are contesting the by-election. The polling will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. without any break.
There are 260,466 registered voters including 116,112 men and 91,355 women. Forty percent voters are urban the remaining 60 percent are rural voters.
Men and women voters will exercise their voting rights at 134 polling stations established across the constituency. Sixty-six polling stations are declared extra sensitive while another 49 are declared sensitive.
Over 500 police personnel and a heavy contingent of Rangers will perform duties during the polling.
The constituency was left vacant after the resignation of MQM member Sindh Assembly Ashfaq Mangi.
