Karachi: City face 50% shortfall in water supply: MD water board

MD water board Misbah Uddin Farid has appealed citizens to use water carefully. He stated that city daily needed hundred crore gallon waters while shortage could be overcome by making water dams in the city.

While talking to reporters after inauguration ceremony of Pak water expo at Expo centre Karachi, MD water board said that through four projects, about twenty six gallons water could be supplied to Karachi but city’s 180 pumping stations are not in working condition.

He added that Karachi needed hundred crore gallon water on daily basis while supply is only 45 crore gallon.

Three days water expo exhibition at Expo centre would continued till 25 Feb, it is first ever exhibition which is organized to found solution of water shortage.
