ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court issued on Wednesday its written order in the Karachi encroachment case and restoration of circular railway.

The SC verdict comprising the 40-page order in which the secretary railway has been ordered to present (Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) decision on February 21 hearing of the case.

The court expressed its anger at the Sindh Building Control Authority for “causing serious damage” to Karachi.

The order said: the SBCA is an authority, which has become totally superfluous; rather, it has itself become a cause of serious damage to the city for the personal gains of its own employees.

The SC has sought complete record of buildings exceeding ground plus two-floor structure in Karachi.

The court has directed the Sindh chief secretary to submit comprehensive reply in two weeks while it also ordered take possession of land adjacent to the Alladin Park immediately and cancel allotment of a two acre land to the builder as well construction on the land be demoished.

The written verdict also directed to remove encroachment immediately on Hill park and Kidney Hill while no additional use of land, use of park, play ground will not be allowed for the project.

The SC in its order said that the Green Line Bus Project must be ensured to complete till March 2021.
