Karachi (July 17, 2018): FIR has been lodged regarding the incident of the swing crash at the Askari Amusement Park located at Sabzi Mandi, Karachi.
According to details, the case has been registered against the park administration and related persons and includes charges of negligence, carelessness and murder.Yesterday, an initial investigation report of the incident stated that the swing collapsed after its bolts broke.

According to Commissioner Karachi, swing was working on trial basis. Owners will also be included in the investigation process, while the management has decided to suspend the the operations for 15 days.
Commissioner Karachi said that a 16-seater ride named ‘Monster’ had fallen apart on Sunday night at Askari Park in the Old Sabzi Mandi area, killing 14-year-old Kashaf and wounding 15 others. 10 of the injured were moved to Jinnah Hospital, three to Civil Hospital while two injured were moved to a private hospital.Karachi Municipal Commissioner East district has denied owning the amusement park, while Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has also denied owning the land.
According to KMC sources, the Askari park was bought from KMC in 2004, same year when Old Sabzimandi was shifted there from the Super Highway.On July 15, an eight-year girl died and 16 other people were injured on Sunday evening when a ride collapsed at recently launched Askari Park in Karachi.

According to police, visitors rescued those stuck under the swing. Later, rescue teams and police reached the scene and ordered the immediate evacuation of the park.
