Initial: Two Policemen Martyred in Chinese Consulate Attack

Karachi (November 23, 2018): A terrorist attack has been reported at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi where the two policemen of the consulate have been martyred by terrorists.

According to Police Officials, three to four terrorists attacked Consulate near 9:30 am, where they opened fire at the Visa Section of the Consulate building.

10:10 am:   IG Sindh confirmed the terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate demanding an abrupt report of the incident from DIG South.

10:20 am:   Director of Jinnah Hospital, Dr. Seemi Jamali said that bodies of two dead and one injured were brought in the hospital.

Further, 1 person injured and 2 security guards of the building are reported dead whereas 3 terrorists have been killed.10:35 am:   Additional IG Karachi said that three terrorists have been killed in the operation carried out by the Police and Rangers. He added that no terrorists were able to enter withing consulate and every staff member of Chinese Consulate is safe in the attack.

10:40 am:  Governor of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah contacted the Chinese General Counsel via the telephone over the incident and inquired him about the safety of his staff.

11:00 am:  ISPR released a statement claiming that three attackers have been killed in the action with everyone safe and sound inside the consulate.

11:20 am:   Information Minister Fawad Hussain tweeted in which he hailed the security forces for overturning the plan of the terrorists,

Due to timely retaliation by the security guards, three terrorists are reported to be killed.

Thus, plan of the terrorists to penetrate the consulate building got foiled all credit to the prompt reaction of the security personnel. The Police and Rangers have reached the area after the incident and secured all entrances and exits of the area.

The ongoing traffic in the vicinity has been cleared and diverted.
