KARACHI: Police has dispersed the sit-in staged by Majlis-e-Wahdatil Muslimeen in Malir area of Karachi and opened the national highway closed since morning, while the protesters have warned that if their leaders were not released in 48 hours then the whole city will be closed down.
The protesting sit-in of MWM staged in Malir area intensified over news of Allama Mirza Yousuf’s Judicial remand till November 23, after which protesters and police clashes continued intermittently, due to which two policemen have been injured. Police also shot shells and aerial firing to disperse the protesters. The protest continued for several hours, due to which traffic flow was badly affected at National highway, while protests also disturbed trains schedules.
After protests and riots, Police somehow, succeeded to end MWM sit-in at National Highway, while 14 people involved in riots were also arrested.
