Karachi unrest case to be heard today

Three member bench under the chairmanship of Chief Justice would hear  Karachi unrest case today, Rangers and police would present their progress report of actions taken against criminals in metropolis while they would also hear the case related to billboards removal due to possible rain.

Three member bench comprising on Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain under the chairmanship of  Chief Justice of Supreme Court Anwar Zaheer Jamali would hear the Karachi unrest case today at Karachi Registry.

Whereas, illegal recruitment in Karachi police, occupation of public lands, progress report related to the attempt of murder attack  on Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi, progress report of actions taken by Rangers and police against criminals in metropolis, murder of journalist Wali  Khan Baber, stealing of NATO weapons including other cases would be heard today.

However, Supreme Court has sought responses  from  Attorney General of Pakistan, Chief Secretary of Sindh, Home Minister, DG Rangers, Secretary Revenue, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Advocate General Sindh, Prosecutor General Sindh and others while issuing notices to them to present their reports.

On the other hand, the SC had ordered to remove illegal hoardings and billboards, however, the SC orders could not be implemented after deadline for the order crossed.

According to the Karachi administration more than 90% hoardings and billboards have been removed adding that more than 60% area on Shahra-e-Faisal is in the limits of cantonment and it is not under Karachi administration.
