Karachi’s Abul Hasan Isphani Area Deprived Of Electricity For Past 24 Hrs

KARACHI: Power has not been restored back in Karachi’s area of Abul Hasan Isphani Road area yet after the city plunged into darkness more than 24 hours ago.

Area residents came out on road to stage protest. People burnt tyres and blocked the roads which disrupted the flow of traffic.

The Electricity supply company K-Electric has claimed that electricity supply was cut-off in some residential buildings of the area following non-payment of bills.

On the other hand, area residents have put the blame of non-payment of bills on building unions.

“Union charges worth in lacs are taken from us each month, but they [building union] do not pay K-Electric bills from the paid amount”, claimed residents.

“We individually pay off bills of electricity. Few people are among those who are due to pay their bills and all of us are being punished for their acts”.

Suffering residents have alleged K-Electric for cutting off their power supply over on-payment of only 20% of people.

They have appealed pertaining authorities to look into the matter and take action against building unions as examinations of children are on the verge and they will massively get affected by the power breakdown.
