KARACHI: The power supply to 11 major shrines of Karachi was shut down as the Auqaf Department remained failed to pay the electricity bills.
The KE has written a letter to Administer Auqaf three months ago about the possible disconnecting of power supply due to non-payment of pending bills.
According to details, the KE has shut down the power to major shrines as Auqaf Department failed to pay more than 30 million rupees.
The privately-owned power distributor shut down the power to the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine due to unpaid dues of Rs 2.2 million.
Similarly, Miran Data Mazar located at Nishtar Road is a defaulter of Rs 1.7 million.
The other shrines of the metropolis include Zinda Shah Shrine, Achi Qabar, Jamal Shah Bukhari and others.
