Key Taliban Commanders Killed In Airstrikes

KABUL: Security officials in Helmand province said Sunday that Ibrahim Rahmat, a key Taliban key commander, was killed during a foreign forces airstrike in Nahri Saraj district.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense claimed on Monday that 22 insurgents including a Taliban local commander were killed and eight wounded in Afghan airstrikes in Ab Band, Andar, Qarabagh districts and Ghazni city, in Ghazni province.

During the air strikes two vehicles, weapons and ammunition were destroyed, MoD said. No further details were provided regarding the operations and military casualties. Taliban has not yet commented.
