Kh Asif Had Not Mentioned Abu Dhabi Accounts: IHC Told

Islamabad (November 30, 2017): The petitioner Usman Dar, who filed petition against Foreign Minister Khuwaja Asif seeking his disqualification, told the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that Khuwaja Asif had not mentioned his Abu Dhabi accounts in his nomination papers filed in election commission.

The three-member bench of IHC comprises of justice Amir Farooq, Justice Mohsin Kiyani and Gul Hassan Aurangzaib resumed the hearing on Thursday.

Submitting his reply before the court the petitioner Usman Dar informed that court that Khuwaja Asif had not submitted his details of bank accounts in Abu Dhabi banks.Kh Asif Admits Iqama But Denies Salary in Reply To IHC“Kh Asif had admitted that he is employ of foreign company as a legal advisor, however he had not submitted details of salary from July 2011, therefore he would be declared disqualified,” he informed court.

Following the Usman Dar arguments,  Court has adjourned the hearing till end of court winter break .

On November 24, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif filed a written response before the Islamabad High Court. He raised objections to a petition that seeks his disqualification and admitted he got the Iqama,work permit in middle East, but on personal basis.

A three-member bench of the high court ─ comprising Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb ─ had admitted the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) activist Usman Dar for regular hearing on September 26.
