Islamabad (Sep 11, 2017): Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday left for Tehran on an official visit.
The Minister is accompanied by Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Lt. Gen (Retd) Nasir Janjua and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in the visit.
The visit is part of Pakistan drive to take regional allies into confidence over US President new policy for Afghanistan and South Asia.
The Minister has returned from China after an official visit along with Lt. Gen (Retd) Nasir Janjua.
During the visit, the minister will hold a meeting with Iranian President and his counterpart.
Matters of mutual interests and regional situation will be discussed during the meetings.
Afghan issue especially the law and order situation there will also come under consideration in the scheduled meetings with Iranian leadership.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan has strongly reacted to Trump’s allegations regarding providing ‘safe havens’ to terrorists and agent of chaos in Afghanistan.
