Khawaja Asif Case: Respondents Ordered to Submit Reply

Islamabad (April 03, 2014): The Islamabad High Court has ordered the respondents to submit their replies till Monday in Khawaja Asif Iqama case.

As the case hearing resumed the counsel of Khawja Asif told the court that his client did not hide his employment in abroad as he possessed the Iqama since 1983.

After hearing the arguments from both parties court ordered them to submit their replies till next Monday.

On November 24,  2017, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif filed a written response before the Islamabad High Court admitting that he got the Iqama,work permit in middle East, but on personal basis.Kh Asif Admits Iqama But Denies Salary in Reply To IHCA three-member bench of the high court ─ comprising Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb ─ had admitted the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) activist Usman Dar for regular hearing on September 26.

The petition seeks Asif’s disqualification under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution, alleging that the foreign minister did not declare details of his employment contract with Mech and Elec Co LLC (IMECL), a company based in the United Arab Emirates, in his nomination papers for the 2013 elections.
