A roof of an Ice factory collapsed after cylinder blast in New Karachi near Saba Cinema on Monday (today) morning. As many as five bodies have been recovered from debris of the factory while it is feared that many people are buried under the rubble. While rescue teams have started rescue work after reaching the spot.
The blast went off in New Karachi area of the metropolis in the ice factory and the blast was so intense that the roof of the factory collapsed while roof of neighboring factory was also collapsed in the cylinder blast.
The rescue teams have reached the area and started the rescue work. The rescuers said that five bodies have been recovered from the factory, however, it is feared that more people are stuck under the debris.
The rescuers have said that release of Ammonia gas has continued in the factory and efforts are being carried out to stop it.
While, E-electric has suspended electricity in the area and after fall of roof of the factory and electricity wires were also damaged and its repair work is also continued.
Sources further said that five days ago rain water still standing in the area which is creating disturbance in the rescue work.
