SUKKUR: An accountability court on Thursday extended judicial remand of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah for five days in assets beyond means case.
Khursheed Shah was produced before the accountability court on completion of his earlier five days’ remand while his counsel contended that the anti-corruption body could not present any evidence even after passing of 87 days of his client arrest.
The anti-graft body prosecutor told that court that a Joint Interrogation Team is being formed.
The AC Judge in a conversation with the graft-buster body prosecutor asked that why a reference against Khursheed Shah could not be filed?adding that file the reference until December 17 otherwise the court will decide the case.
On the other hand in a conversation with the accused Khursheed Shah the Judge questioned “how is your treatment going?” to which Khursheed responded that “it is going OK.”.
Later on, the court extending the judicial remand of Khursheed Shah for more five days ordered the anti-corruption body to produce him in the court on December 17.
In a previous hearing accountability court had extended judicial remand of the PPP leader for five days till December 12 (today).
Syed Khursheed Shah who is currently under treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Sukkur, was produced before the court in an ambulance from the NICVD hospital amid tight security measures.
