Lahore: An accountability Court (AC) of Lahore on Friday extended judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim Leagu-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khwaja Asif for 13 days in the asset beyond income case.

Khwaja Asif presented in the AC Lahore before Judge Jawad Ul Hassan after concluding his nine-day physical remand.

The NAB prosecutor insisted extension in the physical remand of Khwaja Asif and argued that a man named Rana Abdul Waheed deposited Rs 30 million in Khwaja Asif account and he gave statement that he took money from Khawaja Asif and deposited the amount in his account while Khawaja Asif also in the partnership of Tariq Mir transferred Rs 100 million through Telegraph transfer in 2009 while Khawaja Sultan in his statement said he received Rs 20 million from Khawaja Asif.

Khawaja Asif counsel Hyder Rasool Mirza advocate said that the NAB people were still asking for the employment contract of Khawaja Asif while his client had provided all the details in an inquiry held in Rawalpindi in which mentioning of his aqama was included.

The court in its conversation with the NAB prosecutor said that If an accused not wanted to inform any thing what you will do than? The NAB is such a major institution, it should go to Dubai for investigation.

The court rejected the NAB insistence of physical remand and sent Khawja Asif to Kot Lakhpat jail on a judicial remand of until February 4.
