PESHAWAR: The Doctors Council of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday announced to resume its work across Out Patient Departments (OPDs) at Lady Reading Hospital for two days whereas their strike will continue in other hospitals across the province.
Doctors Council convener Dr Sirajul Islam has said that OPDs will remain open on Monday and Tuesday however the boycott will persist in other health facilities including Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex.
“Further developments will depend on the meeting with Chief Minister Mehmood Khan that takes place tomorrow. We respect his offer of holding negotiations”, Dr Sirajul Islam said, warning that talks will be boycotted if any action is taken against the protesting doctors.
He added that negotiations will be overruled if provincial health minister Dr Hisham Inamullah will participate in them.
