Chief Election Commission (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan banned airing of government advertisements and corner meetings across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province till May 30 citing upcoming Local Bodies’ election. He also restricted all development work on different projects.
A high-level session of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was held under chair of CEC Sardar Raza Khan in Islamabad here on Monday to review complaints over violations of electoral regulations during KP LB polls.
Three KP ministers including Mushtaq Ghani, Habibur Rehman and Sardar Idrees, sought pardon by the ECP besides apologies of KP secretaries. While hearing the complaints, Sardar Raza warned that implementation on electoral code of conduct is reponsibility of all political parties and governmental officials, hence, they steps should take all steps carefully in future.
