Call for strike in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was given by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), while provincial government has directed law enforcement agencies to keep a vigilant eye on miscreants.
Chief Minister of KPK, Pervez Khattak chaired a high level meeting on law and order situation, where Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary,Inspector General of Police, Home Secretary and other officials attended the meeting. According to officials, the possibility of terrorism could not be ignored during the protest.
In the meeting, it was decided that CCPO and police officers of the district would aware leaders of the political party about law and order situation, who are going to demonstrate, while CCTV cameras would be installed in the pathways of protest rallies. However, vendors would be requested to close their shops voluntarily if they feel the threat of destruction.
