Lahore (September 15, 2017): Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has left for Turkey on a two-day visit today.
During the visit, he will meet Turkish leadership and exchange views on different matters of mutual interest and international issues.

Talking to Media at Lahore Airport, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Turkey have entered in the new phase of relations and both the countries share similar views over global and regional issues.
He said that he would meet Turkish leadership in his two day visit and discuss various bilateral and regional issues with them.
“My visit to Turkey would further boost bilateral relations between the two countries”.
Talking about current political situation, CM Punjab said that sustainable democracy is the only solution to move country towards progress. He said that democracy is an authentic and independent political, economic, social, and cultural global system of governance for the people. Shahbaz further said that politics of personal interests, allegations and lies is harmful for democracy. All the political forces have to prove by their actions to set high democratic standards for the economic and social development and progress of the country and the nation, he added.
Before CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Khuwaja Asif visited Ankara and met Turkish President, PM and Foreign Minister and discussed several issues of mutual interests.
The two countries agreed that Afghanistan’s neighbors and regional countries need to work together for facilitating a politically negotiated settlement under an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process during Khuwaja Asif’s recent trip to Turkey. The Foreign Minister also called on Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and discussed issues pertaining to further strengthening of bilateral relations.
During his meeting with Khawaja Asif the Turkish President reiterated his country’s unflinching commitment to broaden and expand brotherly relations with Pakistan.
Khawaja Asif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire for further strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries.
Khawaja Asif also held talks with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavusoglu.
