The religious parties who were a part of Muthahida Majlis-e-Amal have decided to contest the Local Bodies elections as one.
Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI-F, Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees, JUP and Islami Tehreek attended the meeting of the religious parties in Lahore. LB elections and action against the seminaries under the National Action Plan were discussed in the meeting. It was also decided to contest the LB elections jointly as one and that MMA would be reconstructed.
The leaders of the religious parties condemned the raids on the seminaries under the NAP and reiterated the resolve that religious parties stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pak Army to eliminate terrorism.
