DERA BUGTI: A passer-by student received serious wounds following a landmine explosion occurred in Zain Loti area of Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district on Saturday morning.
The boy was identified as 10-year-old Gizo Bugti, a student of FC Public School, who was later shifted to hospital. Sources said that condition of the boy was serious following injuries on both of his legs.
Heavy contingents of security forces arrived in and cordoned off the area. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel were also called to collect the evidences.
Earlier in the same genre of explosion, at least three people sustained severe injuries in Landmine Blast in Dera Bugti on September 26 last year.
According to the Levies sources, landmine blast took place in Marganazai area of Dera Bugti, which injured three people badly.
Dera Bugti district is hit by insurgency for years that claimed lives of hundreds of civilians as well as security officials despite large-scale anti-terrorism operations across the Balochistan.
In the same month of September, security personnel conducted an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Dera Bugti and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition, said Inter Services Public Relations Pakistan
According to the details, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan conducted an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Dera Bugti and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition buried under the ground.
The recovered arms and ammunition include ammunition of various types, explosive and improvised explosive device (IED) accessories.
