LARKANA: A local court on Saturday extended the remand of the Dr Muzaffar Ghanghro, who was responsible for spreading immunodeficiency virus (HIV) AIDS in the suburbs of the district, for three more days.
He was presented before the court as previously granted remand was ended today.
This is the fifth time that police has sought an extension in remand of the accused which was accepted by the court.
On the other hand, Joint-Investigation Team (JIT) is yet to submit a final report of the matter.
Earlier on May 9, a doctor apprehended under charges of spreading HIV Aids virus in the district demanded to reveal his test reports.
Dr Muzaffar Ghangro, in a statement, said that he was tested twice. He was first tested during police custody and a case was registered on the basis of that report. According to Ghanghro, his second test was conducted by the Sindh Aids Control Program’s team. The investigations are underway on the basis of the second report.
“I am being dragged into the case,” said Ghanghro.
Ghanghro demanded to reveal the reports before media as he thinks that its denial of his rights to keep him unaware of the case’s details.
