ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday reaffirmed Pakstan’s positive efforts regarding the Afghan-peace process and said that the country has envisioned permanent peace in Afghanistan as one of its interest.
He was talking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani as the latter is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue playing its role for peace in Afghanistan with sincerity, good intentions and an open heart.
Qureshi added that Afghanis have suffered a lot due to the instability prevailing in Afghanistan for decades.
During the meeting, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace process in Afghanistan.
The two sides agreed to implement the already decided strategy of peace and brotherhood for betterment and welfare of the peoples of the two countries.
They exchanged views to enhance bilateral economy, trade and investment and promote cooperation in communications, energy, culture and people to people contacts.
