Earlier today, the Minister tweeted regarding the situation and made it evident that no one should tempt the patience of the state.

He further underscored that Upholding the Constitution and the rule of law completely is in the best public interest and the government will fulfil this duty.

Earlier in a late tweet on November 01 (Thursday), Fawad Chaudhry announced that mobile phone services will remain suspended in Islamabad and other major cities of Punjab today (Friday) from 08:00 am till 06:00 pm.

In his tweet, the minister said that mobile and internet service will remain suspended in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Gujranwala.

The mobile and internet service will remain suspended owing to security concerns as the protests being held across the country against the acquittal of Asia Bibi.

On November 01, Fawad Choudhary addressed in a press conference along with other ministers and told that the opposition and all institutions were standing behind the government’s stance. The information minister said that the government committee will work alongside Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif and briefed them on the situation regarding the ongoing protests in the country.

He said that the government would take the opposition into confidence about its negotiations with the demonstrators.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the government will attempt to take along every political force for the sake of Pakistan. His remarks came after the government decided to negotiate with the protesters holding sit-ins across the country against the acquittal of Asia Bibi.
