Death toll has reached to 10 among six brothers, after two more people were killed due to poisonous sweets in Karor Lal Esan, Layyah, while several people were unconscious, administration has sent sweets samples to Forensic lab while FIR was registered after a man was arrested in Layyah.
Muhammad Sajjad brought sweets on the birth of his son and distributed it to all family members, who were gathered on the occasion, however soon after eating sweets six of them have become unconscious and lost their breaths before reaching hospital while other 26 people admitted hospital in critical condition yesterday.
According to sources, Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has expressed grief over the loss of precious lives, ordered to investigate the incident while expressing condolence with the families.
