LG Elections, Clashes in many Punjab cities, 1 dead, dozens injured

Like Karachi supporters of candidates clashed in many areas of Punjab during the third phase of Local Bodies electionsin 12 districts of the province on Saturday. One person died while dozens were injured while law enforcing Agencies arrested over a dozen people.

A political worker died and four others were injured during fire exchange in Rawalpindi. Workers of PTI and PMLN clashed at a polling station at Kothi School in Ward 4, Sialkot. Punches and kicks were traded. Two people were injured.

In UC14, Bhawalpur workers of PTI and PMLN came to a blow and ransacked each other’s election camps. Police control the situation. Supporters of MPLN and independent candidate clashed in Multan and six people were injured. The polling process was stopped.

In Shakargarh workers of PMLN and PTI traded fire thereby injuring 10 people. The workers of the two parties also clashed in UC 94 and 10 Narowal injring ten people. The polling was suspended for some time.

Supporters of two independent candidates clashed at a polling station No. 1 in ward 5 in Kot Addu. Two people were injured. In Ward No. 12 Rajanpur supporters of PMLN, PTI and independent candidates clashed. Police arrested two persons.
