Islamabad(May 08, 2018): Power Division Minister Awais Leghari has asked provincial governments to help taking action against power thieves.
The minister has sent letters to all provincial Chief Ministers requesting for their cooperation.
Leghari expressed his concern that the earlier requested to CMs for the meeting which was not considered.
Provincial GOVTs are asked to direct LEAs to corporate filing FIR immediately.
The letter stated that Six billion and 60 crores in LESCO, 3 billion in MEPCO, 1 billion and 50 crores in FESCO, 1 billion in GEPCO while 22 crores in ISCO are being stolen only in Punjab.
6 billion and 78 crores in HESCO Sindh while 9 billion and 72 crores are being stolen from SEPCO.
23.5 billion worth electricity is being stolen from PESCO.
6 billion and 75 crores are being stolen from PESCO Balochistan.
