Letter From Dubai Lands In SC to Rescue Kh Asif

Islamabad (April 16, 2018): The echo of letter from Qatari prince still surround Panama case, another letter was submitted in apex court in Khawaja Asif disqualification case on Monday.

According to details the International Mechanical and Electrical company in Dubai has seemed active to rescue already in troubled water ruling party PML-N leader and foreign minister Khawaja Asif as Kh Asif submitted additional documents including company’s letter before Supreme court in his disqualification case.A company representative agreed to appear before apex court as witness over the Kh Asif’s employment and its terms and conditions.

According to documents, under the consultation agreement the full time presence of Kh Asif was not essential during the job as company takes the direction on phone from him.It is learnt that SC has reserved the judgment on PTI leader and Kh Asif rival from his constituency Usman Dars’ petition seeking his disqualification for hiding Iqama.

On April 11, a three-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) headed by Justice Athar Minallah reserved its verdict on a petition seeking disqualification of Foreign Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif for holding an Iqama (work permit)of the United Arab Emirates.

The petition, filed by Usman Dar of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), said that Mr Asif was entitled to draw a salary which was his receivable asset; however, since he did not declare it in his nomination form while contesting the election from NA-110 in 2013, he did not qualify to remain a member of the National Assembly.Kh Asif Admits Iqama But Denies Salary in Reply To IHCAccording to the petition, Mr Asif was not only a full-time employee of the IMECL in 2013 when he was holding the portfolio of federal minister for water and power, but also in the past while the PML-N was in the coalition government of the Pakistan Peoples Party, he was a federal minister till the time his party parted ways with the PPP.

He concealed his job and right to receive salary while filing nomination papers for both terms, it added.
