LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday again adjourned the hearing of PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz’s bail plea till tomorrow in Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case.
A two-member bench of the LHC comprising of Justice Baqir Najfi and Justice Sardar Ahmed Naem conducted the hearing on bail plea of Maryam.
During the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau official requested the court to adjourn the hearing as NAB’s special prosecutor was busy in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The court accepted the NAB’s request and adjourned the hearing till Wednesday (tomorrow).
On August 8, Maryam and her cousin Yousuf Abbas had been arrested by NAB in the CSM case. Since then, their physical remand has been repeatedly extended.
Maryam Nawaz’s arrest had reportedly come in a dramatic way. She was present at the Kot Lakhpat jail on her weekly visit to her father along with her daughter and Yousuf Abbas when a NAB team entered the prison cell and showed Maryam and Abbas their arrest warrants in the CSM case in which they and other members of their family are facing money laundering and income beyond means charges.
