LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of a bail petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah in the drug smuggling case till December 4.
LHC Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed conducted a hearing on former PML-N lawmaker’s bail plea.
The court issued a notice to Anti-Narcotics Force’s (ANF) investigation officer to submit a response along with all the records in the court before the next hearing.
On Wednesday, Rana Sanaullah approached the LHC for the second time seeking his release on bail in a drug case.
In a petition, the PML-N leader made the investigating officer of the ANF and the complainant respondents.
Rana Sanaullah stated in his petition that the case against him was registered because of his strong criticism of the government.
The petition mentioned that the three-hour delay in registration of the FIR made the entire case a concocted story. Moreover, the FIR text does not correspond with the CCTV footage, Rana contended.
The PML-N leader said the complainant mentioned recovery of 21kg heroine in the FIR, however, the quantity was shown to be 15kg afterward.
