Lahore (September 19, 2017): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday rejected a petition seeking contempt of court proceeding against Maryam Nawaz Sharif for being non-maintainable.
A single member-bench headed by Justice Shahid Karim heard the petition filed by one Sadruddin.

The petitioner submitted that Maryam Nawaz was targeting judiciary in her speeches though committing contempt of court.
He added that the people were concerned over the anti-judiciary statements and speeches of Maryam Nawaz.He pleaded the court to initiate contempt of court proceeding against Maryam Nawaz.
The court observed that the Supreme did not took any action, how the LHC can initiate proceeding over it.After hearing the preliminary arguments of the petitioner’s counsel, the court rejected the petition for being non-maintainable.
