LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday rejected a plea seeking potential dissolution of municipalities, declaring it ‘unworthy of hearing’.
As per details garnered, LHD Judge Mamoon Rasheed Sheikh took up the plea filed by senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal’s son Ahmed Iqbal.
Ahmed’s petition, mediated by Usama Khawar expressed risk of dissolving current municipalities.
During the hearing, Punjab government’s lawyer raised an objection against the postulates mentioned in the plea, saying that courts do not interfere in matters of lawmaking.
The court then dismissed the case’s hearing.
