LAHIORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday restrained Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from presiding over the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) Board and issued stay order against appointment of eight members of the Board.
Chief Justice LHC heard a petition against illegal appointments in Nadra. The petitioner counsel submitted that appointment of eight members had been made without following due process. He added that no advertisement was given and only favorites.
The petitioner said that the Deputy Chairman was running the Authority illegally and the Interior Minister was also using it for political purposes.
Upon this, the court restrained Chaudhry Nisar from pressing over the meeting of Nadra board and issued stay order against the appointments of eight members.
The Court also restrained Deputy Chairman Nadra from working.
