LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has approved an interim bail petition of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif in the assets beyond income case.
A divisional bench of the LHC headed by Justice Tariq Abbassi and Farooq Hyder as other judge heard Shahbaz Sharif an interim bail petition in the assets beyond income case.
Amjad Pervez represented Shahbaz Sharif while Syed Faisal Bukhari appeared in the court on behalf of the anti-corruption body.
The NAB opposed granting interim bail to the President of PML-N when the court asked its opinion on the petition.
However, the LHC rejected the NAB opinion and approved an interim bail of Shahbaz Sharif on a surety bond of Rs five lakh.
The Court also ordered the NAB not to arrest the Opposition Leader in NA until June 17.
On Monday, Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif had filed a bail plea in Lahore High Court (LHC) to avoid an arrest in assets beyond means and money laundering cases.
