Lahore: Number of attackers were five in Police Line blast

LAHORE: A significant progress was reported in the investigation of Lahore Police Line explosion case and according to investigations, the number of attackers were five belonging to banned outfit Mohmand Group and they had arrived Lahore from North Waziristan.

The investigations are in process for Police Line Qila Gujjar Singh explosion case, according to which the number of attackers was five and they arrived in Lahore from North Waziristan. All five attackers had constantly changed their locations and sims.

One attacker was killed in Police line blast, while four succeeded to flee. The attacker was trained and had planned to attack police personnel at the time of their entry in Police Line. Higher police officials including CCPO Lahore Ameen Venis and SP CIA Umar Virk visited the blast spot.

Police carried out search operation after the blast and arrested 25 suspects, while security has been beefed up at all important locations of the city. The attacker was identified as Mohammed Amjad, who was resident of Chicha Watni and had arrived to work in travel agency, while the funeral prayers of Police Line blast martyr, Amjad Abbas, has been offered in his hometown Ghachly Warkan. Meanwhile 22 injured patients of Police line blast were under medical treatment in Services, Meo and Ganga Ram Hospitals.
