CJP Stresses Need For Dispensing Early Justice

Quetta (April 11, 2018): Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar on Wednesday stressed on the need of dispensing early justice to the masses and urged the lower judiciary to fulfill their duties to every extent despite having less resources.    

Addressing a ceremony in Quetta, the chief justice said that how could they present themselves  before Allah when they are unable fulfill their responsibility of strengthening the roots of justice in the country.

“Who is responsible for the person who knocks our doors to seek justice but it took years to decide his case,” he remarked and added that he and other judges of the high court and lower judiciary are responsible for this delay.

“Although we are not getting enough resources from the government but we have to work in this capacity to our full extent,” he said.

He called for bringing the house of judiciary in order and said that they had to bring their house in order and if the justice is not dispensed on time then it could aggravate the masses.

“System of disbelief could work but not the system of injustice,” he added.   “I could not understand why civil cases are pending for more than four years,” he said adding that it looks that the judiciary is not utilizing its capacity as per the ability.

He asked as to where those judges have gone whose decisions are written with pearls and said that their decision even do not change at the apex court level.

“I do not consider any difference in the working of the civil judge, judicial magistrate and chief justice,” he said adding that every citizen has a right to be dispensed with justice.The head of the judicial system called for amending the judiciary laws implemented from 1908 for bringing reforms in the judicial system but said that even this law, if implemented properly, could enable them to dispense early justice.

Saqib Nisar said that he has announced the judicial reforms from Balochistan as the judiciary is an integral part of the state without which the state could not run.
