Islamabad (December 08, 2017): Mayor of London Sadiq Khan on Thursday met with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at PM House in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says Pakistan gives great importance to its close and cooperative relations with the United Kingdom especially in the area of trade and investment.
He was talking to Mayor of London Sadiq Khan in Islamabad on Thursday. The Prime Minister briefed the Mayor on the excellent opportunities for trade and investment in Pakistan. He said that successful counter terrorism efforts have made Pakistan an opportune destination for UK businesses.
The Prime Minister welcoming the Mayor said that every Pakistani is proud of his election as Mayor of London and prays for his success.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadiq Khan said that he was impressed by the remarkable progress achieved by the Government in different areas, especially in infrastructure, technology and energy. He assured the Prime Minister that he would work towards fostering closer links between London and Pakistan.
Later, talking to Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov in Islamabad on Thursday Prime Minister said Pakistan wishes to strengthen its relations with Uzbekistan with special focus on trade and investment.
Ambassador Sidikov briefed him on the progress of ongoing economic cooperation between both the countries.
