Magnitude 7.7 earthquake rattles India, Nepal, Bangladesh; over 750 dead

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake rattled India, Nepal and Bangladesh killing over 750 people; 449 in Nepal, 23 in India and 150 people in Bangladesh.

Tremors shook north India and West Bengal. According to American geological survey the epicenter of earthquake was 12 km deep in Nepal. Hundreds of people are buried under the debris, rescuers are digging through the rubble of collapsed buildings in the capital trying to reach survivors.

A number of historic buildings have been destroyed. Among those wrecked was the landmark Dharahara tower, with many feared trapped in its ruins.

The school building collapsed in West Bengal Forty children were injured. Thirteen after shocks were felt during two hours causing severe panic among people. Due to earthquake numerous climbers stuck in blizzard on Mount Everest.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called meeting of chief ministers to discuss the situation after the earthquake.
