Malala Likely To Arrive In Pakistan Tonight

Islamabad (March 29, 2018): Nobel laureate and education activist Malala Yousufzai is expected to arrive in Pakistan tonight, more than five years after she left the country following a failed assassination attempt.

According to sources, Malala will arrive in Islamabad from Dubai via flight no. EK-614. She will hold meetings with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other important figures.

The Pakistani Nobel laureate and education activist, who would be accompanied by her parents and CEO of Malala Fund, will participate in ‘Meet the Malala’ programme during her stay in Pakistan, sources added. She is expected to stay in Pakistan for four days.In October 2012, Malala — then fifteen-years-old — was shot in the head at point blank range by Taliban gunmen as she was returning from her school in Swat valley. She suffered bullet injuries and was admitted to the Military Hospital Peshawar and then taken to London for further treatment.She has become an internationally recognized symbol of resistance to the Taliban’s efforts of denying women education and other rights.

In 2014, Malala became the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 17 in recognition of her efforts for children’s rights.
