Marriyum Slams Govt For Lodging Fake Cases Against PML-N Workers

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Thursday condemned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Punjab government for ‘implicating party workers in fake cases’ after they took out a rally in support of PML-N supremo while returning to Kot Lakhpat jail.

Lahore Police have registered a case in Kot Lakhpat Police station against 1500 PML-N workers. The clauses of road blockage and blocking train by coming on track have been included in FIR.

Marriyum Aurangzeb in a statement has condemned the cases registered by the Punjab government against the peaceful PML-N workers.

“It’s sad that Punjab government has lodged fake cases against PML-N workers on the instruction of PM Imran,” she added.

“Neither a parliament was attacked nor was any state property harmed during a rally,” she said adding that even not a civil disorder call was given by PML-N leadership as Imran Khan did.

Earlier on Tuesday, the incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif handed over himself to officials of the Kot Lakhpat jail authorities after his six-week bail granted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan ended.

A larger number of workers and supporters escorted the car of Nawaz Sharif, which was driven by Hamza Shehbaz, and they also showered rose petals and chanted slogans in favour of their leader.

The PML-N supremo arrived at the prison in a rally led by his daughter and PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz.

Banners were erected across the city to show solidarity with the PML-N supremo. Later, the Erstwhile prime minister Nawaz Sharif in his special message to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers had thanked for their overwhelming support.
