LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz will lead workers to show solidarity with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as he will return to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on Tuesday, informed party’s spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb.
The decision was made by the party’s central executive committee. Maryam will lead the gathering from Jati Umra to Kot Lakhpat Jail.
Aurangzeb said that Maryam will accompany her father, and will be present in his car. The party has decided that she will remain with her father until he is taken into custody by the jail authorities.
The party has decided to carry him to jail in a rally when he will be out from Raiwind Jati Umra, his residence, after the Aftar of the first Ramazan.
Party leader Khawaja Imran said PML-N workers will gather at Shanghai Chowk and will give a historic and warm welcome to their leader.
He was released from the jail on March 27 after the Supreme Court had suspended his sentence in the Al-Azizia reference and granted him bail on medical grounds for six weeks.
Last week, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had rejected a petition filed by Nawaz Sharif for an extension in the bail granted to him on medical grounds.
