LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday permitted counsel of Maryam Nawaz, Vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to make amendments in a plea filed seeking allowance on meeting incarcerated Nawaz Sharif twice a week.
Maryam Nawaz and other family members are allowed to meet Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore once a week every Thursday.
Maryam had filed a plea in LHC on Thursday where she cited health issues of her father as the prime reason for granting her permit to meet Nawaz two times in a week.
However, she did not make PML-N Supremo’s personal physician Dr Adnan respondent in the plea.
“Nawaz Sharif is suffering from numerous diseases including heart ailments. Interior Ministry of Punjab allows us to meet Nawaz Sharif only once in a week which is illegal. Nawaz Sharif has been barred from meeting other party leaders as well as supporters. These restrictions are non-constitution and against the law”, the plea stated.
