Islamabad (May 12, 2017): Father of Mashal Khan, the student of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, who was lynched by a mob on blasphemy charge, said that only ‘actors’ in Mashal murder case had been arrested but no action was taken against the ‘directors’.
Talking to media outside Supreme Court, Mashal father Iqbal Khan said that the university administration had not even registered the case of Mashal murder.’
He added that he was thankful to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for taking suo motu notice of his son murder. He said that his son could not return but he wanted to ensure that no one met the same fate in future.
Criticizing the University administration, Iqbal Khan said that they did not even registered the case of Mashal murder. He demanded that the facilitators of the incidents should also be arrested.
It is to be mentioned here that last month Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan’s student Mashal Khan was killed by a vigilante mob on blasphemy charges.The campus was shut down following the incident until further notice and its hostels vacated to avoid a further escalation of violence.
