Abbotabad (October 11, 2017): An Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday recorded statements of five more witnesses in Mashal Khan murder case at the Central Jail Haripur.
ATC Judge Fazal Subhan heard the murder case inside Haripur Central Jail in strict security arrangements.
The court has so recorded statements of over 30 prosecution witnesses have so far recorded their statements and the defence counsels have crossed examined them.ATC Judge Fazal Subhan has also reserved verdict on bail application of 25 accused.
Mashal, a journalism student at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan, was brutally lynched to death by a violent mob on April 13, which had accused him of blasphemy.
The ATC had on September 19 indicted 57 suspects in the case and had rejected the bail applications of 17 accused in the case.On July 27, two members of Peshawar High Court (PHC) bench ordered to move the case to ATC Abbottabad and shifted the accused to Central Jail Haripur from Mardan after the father of the accused moved an application seeking shifting of the trail from Mardan owing to security concerns.
