Medical Report Maintains Converted Hindu Sisters Were Of Marriageable Age

ISLAMABAD: In an important development in the case pertaining to the forced conversion of two Hindu sisters of Daharki on Tuesday it has been revealed that both were above their legal age of marriage.

As per details, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard the case of forced conversion of the two Hindu sisters.

During the hearing medical and dental reports were submitted to the court which revealed that the newly convert sisters Asia Bibi and Nadia were beyond their legal age of marriage when they married two Muslim guys.

The court, however, has ordered another detailed medical checkup of the girls to verify the previous reports.

Justice Minallah on the petitioner’s request has also ordered to induct Mufti Taqi Usmani in an inquiry constituted to probe the matter and is comprised of Shireen Mazari, Khawar Rehman and Dr Mehdi Hassan.

During the hearing, the CJ of IHC also told that he has got another report which will be disclosed with the time being as it is too early to reveal the report.

He also told that he wanted to probe this matter in detail as it is a matter of forced conversion or not.

Earlier, the allegedly kidnapped two Hindu sisters who later embraced Islam has approached Islamabad High Court earlier on March 26 for protection.

The sisters, hailing from Daharki, have a stance in their plea that they were impressed by the teachings of Islam for a long time, and, therefore, they “did not accept Islam under any influence or pressure or life threats.”

In their petition they told the court that they are being harassed and sought security for themselves and their husbands by naming interior ministry, chief minister of Sindh, inspectors general (IGs) of Punjab and Sindh, PEMRA, Minister Ramesh Kumar and Hari Lal as respondents They pleaded with the court to direct concerned authorities to ensure necessary security measures for them.

On March 23, they embraced Islam in Khanpur.

Earlier on 25 March, Police arrested four persons involved in what was being “anticipated” by the media and reports their alleged abduction and forced conversions to Islam from their home in Daharki on the occasion of Holi last Wednesday.

It is pertinent to mention here that two Hindu sisters were allegedly abducted from Daharki area of Sindh province and were taken to Rahim Yar Khan Punjab.

A social media confessional video was surfaced which showed that the two sisters have accepted Islam but the family came out to protest as they believed that they were forced to issue a confessional statement.
