ISLAMABAD: The 31st meeting of the Council of Common Interests chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is underway here.
The meeting will discuss matters pertaining to distribution of gas and other natural resources amongst the provinces as well as the proposed national LNG policy. Energy and hydel projects will also be discussed at the meeting.
The meeting will be presented a progress report over the task accomplished during the first phase of the population and housing census by the officials of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The second phase of the census is underway in 87 selected districts.
The meeting is attended by the provincial chief ministers, Federal Ministers for Finance, Water and Power, SAFRON, Planning, Petroleum, Overseas Pakistanis, Religious Affairs, Defence Production and Climate Change.
