Quetta (June 21, 2017): The hearing of mega corruption case held in accountability court one in Quetta and the witness of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeared before the court.
During the hearing central accused former secretary finance Mushtaq Raisani, former secretary local government Hafiz Abdul Basit and former secretary local government board Faisal Jamal produced before the court, however other arrested accused former provincial finance advisor Khalid Langu and supervisor Sohail Majeed ccould not be produced.
During the hearing the statement of court has recorded the statement of NAB witness Mir Asad.
Later, court adjourned hearing till July 14.
In May 2016, NAB officials had recovered several bags full of foreign and Pakistani currencies, worth Rs73 million, from the residence of Raisani earlier this month.
During initial interrogation he disclosed the names of political facilitators in connection with the mega-corruption case. After the corruption case came forward, Khalid Langove had tendered resignation from the post of adviser to the chief minister on finance.
On May 21, 2016, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had recovered more than 50 lakhs from a bakery on identification of a facilitator in mega corruption case, who has been revealed that 50 crores were sent to abroad through hundi.
However, NAB has increased the scope of investigation after it was revealed that 50 lakhs were sent to abroad through hundi while further arrests are expected.
