KARACHI: Female Pakistani film star Mehwish Hayat on Tuesday responded to the critics for their response over the government’s decision to award her a national accolade.
During an interview, she said, “It was a dream come true for me as a Pakistani to receive a national accolade from the country’s president on Pakistan day.
“I am a common girl who has ambitions to meet but this would be a great honour,” she added.
She also bashed her critics for her character assassination.
“The people have the right to express their views on whatever they want but for assassinating my character is not a good move,” she concluded.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mehwish Hayat is among those artists who were selected for Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the federal government and received a mixed response over the decision of the government.
