The teachers protest demanding educational reforms which is going on for many days now has turned violent with six people dead and over 600 injured in clashes between the protesting teachers and police.
Security forces launched the crackdown against teachers and their supporters after talks between the government and teachers failed.
Teachers and their supporters blocked the roads and torched many vehicles while security forces shelled tear gas and baton-charged the striking teachers in which six people died and over 100 were injured.
Besides educational reforms the teachers are also demanding the release of political prisoners and surety not to be arrested or sacked and restoration of teachers.
